Stinky pits are the pits. This is a list of vegan deodorant options that are non toxic and aluminum-free.
It can be hard to find a vegan deodorant that’s natural and non toxic because many natural deodorants contain beeswax. While I’m not vegan, I can imagine how frustrating it is to read about an amazing natural deodorant that works only to look at the ingredients and see the words “beeswax” or “cera alba” staring back at you.
That’s why I pulled together this list of vegan deodorant options. These are also cruelty free, with most certified either by PETA or Leaping Bunny.
And remember that there’s no one option that will work for every body’s chemistry, so you might need to try several kinds before you find one that works. It’s frustrating, I know. Ugh.
A lot of natural deodorant brands, including many listed below, have both vegan and non-vegan options. Make sure that the one you choose is actually vegan.

Vegan Deodorant for Your Underarms
I’ve separated the vegan deodorant options into two lists: without baking soda; and with baking soda.
Baking soda is used in place of aluminum to absorb excess moisture, but it’s a common irritant for many people. Instead of baking soda, brands might use ingredients like magnesium, arrowroot powder, or tapioca powder/starch.
Also, some people may be allergic to the essential oils used in natural deodorants. Unscented deodorants made without essential oils are available if you have very sensitive armpits.
